Key Club’s Annual Charity Badminton Event

By: Aishwarya Thakur

Interested in having some fun playing badminton with your friends, while raising money for a charitable cause? Then come to Key Club’s fourth annual badminton tournament fundraiser held in the MSJ gym on Saturday, February 26. All proceeds will go to Pediatric Trauma Prevention to help support preventing accidents that can happen to children and children who suffer from traumatic experiences.

Key Club asks that players register to participate. This year players may not register at the door, so they must pre-register. The deadline for early bird sign-ups is February 6 and the amount for registration is $15. After that day, the registration fees will go up to $18 and the final deadline to register will be February 12. For any additional events that players wish to participate in, the registration will be $5 each. Payment can be given in an envelope with your name, phone number, and email to any Key Club officers. All early bird sign-ups will get a free memorabilia t-shirt and refreshments will be provided for all participants at the event as well. Trophies will also be awarded to first, second, and consolation winners.

There will be boys, girls and co-ed doubles games at the event. Interested players should e-mail Key Club at msjhs.cbt@gmail.com to register with their name, flight, partner’s name, phone number, school, and t-shirt size. Participants should sign up in flight D for recreational play or in flight C for advanced players. Players must also fill out a waiver, which can be found at Key Club’s Facebook page, in order to be able to play.

Key Club has been hosting this event for the past four years. Last year they raised over $1000, and this year they plan on beating that record by raising over $1500 this year. So to enjoy a great game of badminton and donate to charity as well, come out and support Key Club on February 26 right here at MSJ.
