Co-Editor-in-Chief
Senior Janet Guan is a 2026-27 Editor-in-Chief, having previously served as Co-Opinion Editor. Guan’s favorite part of the Smoke Signal is the connection it fosters between people. As Co-Editor-in-Chief this year, she hopes to ensure that the paper continues to highlight unique stories and serve as a platform for student and community voices. Aside from editing articles and spreads for the Smoke Signal, Guan can be found on campus lecturing about geometry at MSJ Math Club or puzzling over mechanics problems at MSJ Physics Club. In her free time, Guan enjoys sketching, singing, journaling, listening to new music, and working through (to no avail) the long list of to-read books on her Notion.
