Staff Writer
Meet senior Tavish Mohanti, a second-year staff writer and photographer for the Smoke Signal. As co-chair of the Youth Advisory Commission, a branch of the City Council, and a varsity member of the speech & debate team, Tavish loves public speaking, social justice, and community involvement. If he’s not writing a movie review for the paper, you can probably find him dancing with Ishaara, MSJ’s Bollywood dance team, cooking anything from Impossible Burgers to carrot cake, or writing his next break-through film inspired by some of his favorite directors like Taika Waititi, Lulu Wang, and Bong-Joon Ho.
