Charity Fashion Show

By: Kerrie Wu

MSJ’s annual Charity Fashion Show will be held on Thursday, April 5, from 7-10 pm in C120. The show will feature MSJ students modeling in multiple categories, including sportswear, formal wear, and semiformal wear. There will also be student performances in the talent section of the fashion show.

This year’s theme is Dreams Come True, to correspond with MSJ Alumna and Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation. Yamaguchi will be at the show not only to speak about her foundation but also to model on the runway.

Pre-sale tickets for the show can be bought from any L2 student and at the student store for only $8.  Tickets at the door will cost $10.  Each program for the event will include a buy one get one free Chipotle coupon. There will be raffle tickets on sale at the show to enter a drawing to win prize baskets. With all these bonuses included, the ticket prices are truly a great value.

All proceeds from the show will go to the Always Dream Foundation, founded by Yamaguchi to support organizations that positively influence children. Since its establishment in 1996, the foundation has funded numerous activities, such as back-to-school “shopping sprees” for underprivileged children and new computers for an after-school mentoring program.

“We hope we can really get the student body involved in this and so we would love for everyone to come out and have a great time while supporting a good cause!” says L2 Charity Fashion Show Committee member Gurubala Kotta.  Since there is no school on the Friday after the show, the Charity Fashion Show is also a great way to kick off Spring Break!
