Junior Janet Guan has come a long way both as a journalist and person. Once an anxious sophomore in front of the interview board, Janet now leads as an editor for the Smoke Signal’s Opinion section, one of the most analytical and nuanced areas of the paper. Janet has big plans for Opinion, increasing multifaceted coverage on issues and creating a robust platform for student voices. During her free time, you can find Janet landscape painting, journaling, and enjoying modern piano compositions. Janet wholeheartedly endorses taking Journalism, with its enthusiastic classmates and opportunities to physically interact with the Fremont community. Whether at her 7-week astrophysics camp or in the M2 classroom, Janet strives for excellence and leaves a lasting impression on peers and mentors alike.
