If Senior and co-Sports Editor Michael Qu could use only one word to describe his plans for the Sports section this year, it would be “personalized.” After spending six weeks in Boston for a summer program with students from around the world, Qu discovered for the first time the value of leaving the MSJ and Bay Area bubble. As a Sports Editor for next year, Michael is eager to narrow the gap between readers and the dynamic world of sports with personal articles that matter to them. Outside of the Smoke Signal, Qu can be found on campus at Chemistry Club, Civics Club, and History Club as well as goalkeeping for the Boys Water Polo team. In his free time, Michael also enjoys reading manga, playing chess on his phone, and trying out flash games with his friends.
