Irvington High School’s (IHS) Resonance! hosted Chords Against Cancer, their annual winter benefit concert, with MSJ and IHS VAMS, and Lynbrook High School’s Music For Community, on Thursday, December 20 and Friday, December 21* at the IHS Valhalla Theater.
More than one hundred people attended the concert. MSJ students performed, including Syncopasians and Junior Bruce Bai. “The concert exceeded my expectations. The audience cheered so much, and everyone was so kind and helpful,” Junior Bruce Bai said.
In its first night, the concert raised $1,422. All ticket proceeds will be donated to the American Brain Tumor Association in honor of Ronil Mehta, an IHS student who recently passed away from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.
*The Smoke Signal was only able to cover the concert on Thursday, December 20.
