DEFINITIONS:

Galactic Republic – Also known as the Old Republic, this was the government of the galaxy for more than 25,000 years, until the establishment of the Galactic Empire.

Sith – An ancient galactic government, made up of those who seize power through violence. Main antagonists of the “Star Wars” universe.

Galactic Empire – Also known as the new order, this was the government established by Emperor Palpatine to bring Sith rule to the galaxy.

Separatists – Members of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which was seeking to secede from the Galactic Republic

Rebel Alliance – An alliance whose common enemy was the Galactic Empire and its leader, Emperor Palpatine.

Jedi – The mystical knights of the “Star Wars” universe, trained to protect peace and order.

The Force – A metaphysical, omnipresent energy in the “Star Wars” universe which connects all living things and is of great importance to both the Jedi and Sith.
