L2 Organizes Canned Food Drive

By: Shirby Wang

Starting from November 1 of last week, Leadership 2 began a canned food drive to collect cans to donate to Abode, formerly called the Tri-City Homeless Coalition. Abode is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the homeless community of the Tri-City area. Canned foods as well as other non-perishables are accepted as donations.

Cardboard boxes have been placed in all the classes, and students are encouraged to donate unused cans to their third period class. The drive lasts for two weeks and will end on November 15. The class with the most cans will earn a pizza party, while the teacher of the class will receive a $15 gift card to the store of their choice. L2 will host a donut party for the second place class and give chocolate to the third place class. Donate your cans to your third period class for a chance to win one of the prizes!
