FAWM: Challenge Accepted

This February, make sure to participate in the February Album Writing Month Challenge (FAWM)! The challenge is simple; write 14 songs in the month of February. This year, the song-writing value has been increased to 14 ½ songs, with the half-song being a collaboration with another participant. To register for FAWM, sign up on FAWM.org, discuss song ideas, and ask for lyrics suggestions on the numerous forums of the FAWM community. Registering requires no fee, but donations are enthusiastically welcomed. FAWM has a Twitter and Facebook page, as well as call-in radio show. For more information about the project, visit any of these pages or the FAWM website.

At MSJ, members of Songwriter’s Guild, a musical club on campus, are currently participating in this FAWM challenge. Participants include Junior Lucy Shen, Junior Lily Choung, and Senior Joshua Wu. Below are some of the links to MSJ participants’ profiles as part of the FAWM challenge. For more information and coverage, be sure to read the “Challenge Accepted: Write an album in 29 days” FAWM article in the upcoming Smoke Signal!
