MSJ Students Give Back

L2 is teaming up with non-profit organization One Warm Coat to hold a coat drive. Students will be able to drop off donated coats to the office or N7 from December 1 to January 30 (break not included), and these coats will go to those in need.

In addition to the two canned food drives, this year MSJ students also reached out to the community through MVROP’s annual toy drive for the League of Volunteers (LOV). From December 1 to 17, MSJ students brought new, unwrapped toys to the Career Center for LOV.

The Make-A-Wish Club also did a fundraiser at MSJ on December 10. Club representatives went from classroom to classroom during read and asked students to write short letters to Santa. For each letter, Macy’s will donate two dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of terminally ill children, as part of the Macy’s Believe Campaign.

Interact also held a Christmas Grams event, with proceeds going to this year’s international project, Hello My Name Is, in order to raise awareness of sex trafficking in America and funding a  rehabilitation center.
