Students Against Drunk Driving on Campus

By: Kevin Chen

Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) is a program introduced by Leadership Teacher Ben Breazeale hoping to increase awareness of the risks and dangers associated with drunk driving. From April 14 to 17, students from Breazeale’s L1 class set up a variety of exhibits around the campus. These exhibits included signs with facts about drunk driving, a wrecked car resulting from a drunk driving accident, and several body bags symbolizing the death of drunk driving victims. During Read period, all students were also shown a short film that was a compilation of interviews with real life survivors of drunk driving incidents. The film detailed the potential consequences of drinking and driving, and served as a reminder that accidents can happen to anyone.
